A CHARITY in York has celebrated 30 years of supporting local people with mental illness and their carers.
The York Fellowship celebration was held at Sycamore House, with more than 40 people paying tribute to the voluntary coordinator Jenny MacLaren, who founded the charity and ran it for over 28 years before her death in 2013.
Jenny’s widower Ian was presented with an engraved vase by the Fellowship’s Chair Patrick Kaye, who said: "Under Jenny’s guidance and tireless work, the charity has made a big difference to the lives of many local people."
The President of the Easingwold Lions Club, John Sutherland, also presented the Fellowship with a cheque for £500 to help ensure its work would continue.
