THE Pipe and Glass Inn, at South Dalton, near Beverley, has retained its Michelin Star, this year’s guide shows. The Pipe and Glass was only recently named National Dining Pub of the Year 2015 by The Good Pub Guide.

The new guide also shows that the Star Inn, at Harome, has regained its star. The pub and restaurant near Helmsley held the accolade for almost a decade until losing it in 2011.

Owner Andrew Pern said of the award: “ It’s a huge pat on the back for the hard-working Star Inn team, and it’s extra special when we have just marked our 18th anniversary. It’s great news for the area too to be recognised for its foodie credentials.”

The Star Inn is one of six restaurants in Yorkshire to have been awarded a star by the guide, which is one of the oldest and best-known reference guides to hotels and restaurants in Europe. Others include The Black Swan at Oldstead, near Thirsk, The Yorke Arms in Ramsgill-in-Nidderdale and The Box Tree in Ilkley.
