YORK'S Food & Drink Festival comes to an end this weekend with plenty on the menu.

The line-up includes the Three Wine Men, TV's Oz Clarke and his two fellow TV wine buff buddies – Olly Smith, aka Radio 2's 'Jolly Olly', and Tim Atkin, the wine expert on Saturday Kitchen. The trio have made a name for themselves touring the country on a mission to get people to fall in love with wine, tasting a variety of wines alongside delicious food.

They've never been to York before, but they are about to putting on shows tonight from 5.30pm to 8.30pm and tomorrow from 11am to 3pm, and then 4pm to 7.30pm in Dean's Park in the shadow of York Minster, with hundreds of wines for people to try.

Among the other highlights of this year's festival which is the 18th such event is a taste trail around the city centre, hands-on cookery lessons and the ten-day market in St Sampson's Square.

This week celebrity chef Stephanie Moon, the head chef at Rudding Park, has been among those giving cookery demonstrations in St Sampson's Square and she teamed up with the Lord Mayor of York Ian Gillies and Selby MP Nigel Adams, in a Can’t Cook Won’t Cook event on Wednesday, followed by a two-course meal in the Guildhall.

El Piano, the vegetarian-based restaurant on Grape Lane, is also offering diners a chance to eat for £5 when they sit at their community table between noon and 1.30pm.

All proceeds will go to York Against Cancer and Mummy’s Star, a charity supporting women affected by cancer during pregnancy and beyond.

Entrance to the demonstrations, some workshops and the market, is free.

Tickets for the Three Wine Men cost £25 per session from www.seetickets.com/Tour/THREE-WINE-MEN or from the ticket hotline on 0844 858 6759.
