The Great North Air Ambulance on the scene in Whitby
A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital from Whitby after a fall left her with a serious leg injury.
The ambulance service and the Great North Air Ambulance were both called to Salt Pan Well Steps, Church Street, Whitby, just before 1pm today.
The woman, in her 60s, had slipped and badly hurt her leg. She was treated by paramedics and a doctor at the scene, before being flown to James Cook Hospital in Middlesborough.
