THE Archbishop of York has visited a church in Tang Hall to join in it's 80th birthday celebrations.
Dr John Sentamu was welcomed by a packed St Hilda's Church to the service on Sunday, where he preached.
Afterwards, he stayed to cut the cake and chat to members of the congregation.
The Archbishop said St Hilda’s had been at the heart of Tang Hall for the past 80 years and was still going strong, putting children at the heart of its ministry.
The church will host more celebrations on Saturday, with a kids craft session at 2pm and a vintage tea party from 3.30pm, with people invited to wear fancy dress from across the eras.
