THIEVES have stolen a distinctive miniature violin from a North Yorkshire house.
North Yorkshire Police have released images of the instrument, which was stolen from a house in Hovingham, near Malton.
Police said they believed the instrument - which has distinctive detail including a carved face where the finger board meets the body - may already have changed hands a number of times, and have urged all antique, music and collectables dealers to report any sightings to them.
Anyone with information should phone North Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
