AN aeroplane has made an emergency landing in a North Yorkshire field after suffering engine failure.
The two men in the Cessna were uninjured after making an emergency landing in the field near Sherburn in Elmet at about 11.45am today. They are believed to have been out on a flying lesson.
They had taken off from Sherburn Airfield and were heading back in to land when the plane came into difficulties.
The experienced flying instructor carried out a textbook emergency landing, a spokesman for Sherburn Airfield said. He said the plane came in to land as a glider would.
The spokesman said both men - from Birmingham and Manchester - were fine and the instructor had been flying again within the hour.
North Yorkshire Police were informed as soon as the plane had landed.
