MORE than 1,000 people visited the annual York National Book Fair yesterday - with a similar number expected to attend today.
Janette Ray, one of the organisers of the two-day event at York Racecourse’s Knavesmire Suite, said people had come from all over the country, and even a few from the United States. “The whole atmosphere is bouyant,” she said.
The fair, which is the largest in Europe and is marking its 40th anniversary in the city, features about 150,000 books and more than 220 dealers. It finishes at 5pm today.
