FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a blaze in a flat in York city centre.

The fire started in a second floor flat of a four storey house in Bootham Terrace and was reported at 7.15pm.

Fire crews, North Yorkshire Police and paramedics were all called to the scene.

The fire was extinguished by 8.20pm, when crews were said to be clearing up the scene.

There are no reports of serious injury.
