A MANHUNT has been launched to find a missing offender.

Paul Michael Dougan, 27, of Albermarle Back Road, Scarborough, was sentenced to six years imprisonment for wounding in 2011, but released on licence in April.

Police said Dougan is wanted for recall to prison for poor behaviour since his release, and while searches are taking place at addresses around Scarborough to try and find him, the public is urged to report any sightings of him.

Chief Inspector Mark Grange, of Scarborough Police, said: "Paul Dougan is well aware that we are looking for him and it is only a matter of time before we catch up with him. By evading the police he is not doing himself any favours and I urge him to do the sensible thing and hand himself in.

"Breaching the terms of a prison release licence is a serious matter and in the interests of justice he must be returned to prison. If you know where Dougan is or see anyone matching his description please contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible."

Dougan is described as white, about 5ft 10in tall, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information should phone North Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
