A MAN and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder in York.
The pair were arrested today over the killing of Stephen Eastwood.
Mr Eastwood was attacked in Lawrence Street on 27 March 2012 and never recovered. He died in May this year, aged 47,
A murder investigation was launched and North Yorkshire Police this morning arrested a 42-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman. They are in police custody being questioned.
Stephen’s family have been informed of the arrests.
Mr Eastwood was left in a coma after the attack, which reportedly involved a hammer, at the then Bubbles car wash site in Lawrence Street.
He was seen lying on the ground by a member of the public.
North Yorkshire Police's major crime unit is still urging anyone with information about the attack to come forward.
