RUNNERS are preparing to take part in a ‘Colour Me Happy’ Fun Run next Sunday in aid of St Leonard’s Hospice and Martin House Children’s Hospice.

Everyone in the 5 kilometre run at Rawcliffe Country Park will get showered with clouds of colour at every ‘colour station’ along the route.

Sponsors for the colour stations are healthcare provider Barchester, holiday homes company Park Leisure and City of York Trading, are sponsoring the event’s ‘colour stations’, while main sponsor for the whole event is sweets company HARIBO.

The cost per adult is £20; under 16s are £10 and under 5s are free. A family ticket (two adults and two children) is £50. All entry fees include a bright white tee-shirt to wear – and to get coloured – on the day.

Sue Miller, fundraising manager at St Leonard’s Hospice, said: "A big event like ‘Colour Me Happy’ needs a great deal of support, so we are very grateful to all our sponsors for their generosity in helping us put on what promises to be one of the most colourful days York has seen!"
