THE latest recruits to North Yorkshire Police's Special Constabulary have completed their training.
The 22 Specials, who bring the total number in the force to 152, will undertake at least four hours of duty each week.
They come from a range of backgrounds including working in the NHS, students, a fitness instructor, full-time parents, a brand development manager for a food company and a restaurant manager.
Temporary Assistant Chief Constable Ken McIntosh, said the Specials displayed a 'fantastic commitment' to keeping communities safe, and he knew from personal experience how much their contribution was valued by regular colleagues.
Specials based in York are Katie Derrick, Paul Henderson, Georgia Ladley, Benjamin Sykes, Nicholas Morritt, Daniel Bishop and Jordan Elliot.
