A CYCLIST was taken to hospital with head injuries after a hit-and-run accident in York this morning.
North Yorkshire Police said the cyclist was struck by a car in Crichton Avenue, Clifton, at about 10.45am, after which the car was driven away.
A spokesman said initial concerns that the cyclist's head injuries might be serious proved unfounded, and they were only minor. He said the road had been closed temporarily while police investigated but re-opened later.
