JUST a few thoughts on the Lendal Bridge fines saga.
If the restrictions the council put in place are illegal, then surely the fines deducted by the council should be repaid as a matter of course.
If the council’s action was not classed as illegal under traffic laws and they scrapped the restrictions themselves, then can it not be said that they thought the restrictions were wrong and thereby have a moral duty to return the fines imposed on a scheme they thought was flawed?
