A MAN has been charged over a bomb threat which caused the evacuation of a North Yorkshire police station.
Officers were evacuated from Northallerton police station yesterday, and an Army team from Catterick Garrison were called to the scene after a suspicious package was discovered outside the building.
The road outside the station was closed for several hours while the package was investigated, and police yesterday arrested a 25-year-old man.
Today, a North Yorkshire Police spokesman confirmed the 25-year-old, from Darlington had been charged with three counts of making threats to kill, one count of making an explosive device, one count of impersonating a police officer by possessing an item of uniform and one count of possessing cannabis.
He will appear before Harrogate Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
