PROTESTERS took to the streets of York on Saturday to fight against deal which they say puts the NHS under threat from international corporations.
A group from the 38 Degrees campaigning organisation were in Parliament Street to publicise their fears about the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
The protesters say the deal - a proposed free trade agreement between the EU and the USA - would let private companies sue the British government over laws like the minimum wage and plain packaging on cigarettes - which threaten their profits.
And, they claim, the deal threatens public services like the NHS by giving corporations the right to sue the Government if it tries to stop the privatisation of the NHS.
