ANGLERS without licences are facing a Bank Holiday blitz by fisheries enforcement officers in Yorkshire.
Environment Agency officials will be visiting lakes and river banks, looking for people fishing illegally, without a licence.
The agency warned that those who are caught may face prosecution.
A spokesman said that between April and June this year, officers checked 2,366 licences in Yorkshire, some 145 offences were reported and there were 51 successful prosecutions.
