TWO North Yorkshire teenagers are due in court after they were arrested for driving offences near Easingwold late on Tuesday evening.
Passers-by spotted the man and woman, both 18, in a car on the A19 near Shipton at about 10pm on Tuesday night, and called the police, worried about the way the car was being driven.
Police said they found the vehicle and the pair – the man from Malton and a woman from Easingwold – in Crayke, near Easingwold, and arrested both.
The woman was later charged with a driving licence offence, drink-driving, possessing a weapon designed to discharge an electrical incapacitant, and driving without insurance; while the man was charged with aiding and abetting a driving licence offence, failing to stop for police, obstructing or resisting a police office in the execution of duty, and driving without insurance.
Both will appear before magistrates in Northallerton in early September.
