YORK Foodbank is looking for 200 people to form a dedicated core of supporters to keep the charity helping people in need.

Organisers want to forma “200 club” of people who can give £10 or more every month, so the charity has a reliable income to help it plan ahead.

In the first edition of its newsletter, the Foodbank put out an appeal for people who can give regularly and support their work, and form the 200 club.

The steady income will help the charity be able to provide emergency food for people in need, and will also help it budget effectively for the months ahead and prove to other potential funders that the foodbank is sustainable.

Anyone who wants to give reguarly should visit the York Foodbank page on Virgin Money Giving.
