A DOG needed surgery after being attacked by another dog outside a shop in York.
The 14-year-old Jack Russell was outside the shops in New Earswick, with its lead secured, when it was injured by another dog.
The incident happened on July 28 at about 11.45am, police said today.
Police said there had been some suggestion that it was a deliberately-orchestrated attack, although since this article was published on The Press website this morning, the owner of the other dog has come forward and stressed that was not the case.
