A POLICE investigation is ongoing and a country road north of Harrogate is still closed after a man was found stabbed to death in the area.
Police have confirmed they are still making enquiries at the murder scene in Ripley, and a stretch of the B6165 at Whipley Bank - between Ripley and Summerbridge in southern Nidderdale - remains closed until further notice.
Drivers are being advised to follow local diversions and to listen to local radio for the latest traffic reports.
Earlier today police confirmed that a 44-year-old man had been stabbed to death and a second man arrested on suspicion of his murder.
The victim was found at 9.30pm on Sunday in a car on Whipley Bank.
The suspect, a 40-year-old man, handed himself into Greater Manchester Police at 2.40am today.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Ambulance and police teams were alerted to an address on Whipley Bank and discovered a man with fatal injuries in a car."
He said police wanted to reassure local residents that it was an "isolated incident" with no danger to the wider public.
Anyone with information is asked to phone the police control room on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 12140130641.
