FIRE crews were called to Bootham Hospital on Friday.
Two people were injured in a small fire which broke out at the hospital at about 10pm.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire Service said crews from Acomb, Huntington and York attended the hospital after a fire to bed and bedding at the site, which was put out with handheld extinguishers.
A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokeswoman said one person was taken to York Hospital for treatment.
