CHILDREN are being asked to become dinosaur detectives this summer at the Yorkshire Museum.

Museum bosses have said nine dinosaurs are suspected of taking “bites” out of precious artefacts and there has bee discovery of some dinosaur bones

Until August 31, children are being asked to become great dinosaur detectives to help staff solve clues around the museum, look at dinosaur fossils and find out which one of our naughty dinosaurs is responsible for chewing on the collections.

They can also create their own dinosaur mask and feet, build lego dinosaurs, handle real fossils and join the curator of natural sciences for a special kids talk about the amazing resident reptiles.

Emma Williams, assistant curator of science and archaeology said: “We have planned some great family activities to complement our fascinating dinosaur collection which has always been a favourite with children with teeth, claws, bones and even fossilised dino poo on display.”

A series of related events and activities are planned. Visit www.yorkshiremuseum.org.uk for a full list.

Admission is £7.50 for adults and £6.50 for concessions. There is free entry for children under 16 and residents with a valid York Card.
