York Press: POP-UP POPPIES: Volunteers prepare for the poppy planting next to the Fox Inn in Holgate

5) Poppies and pipes - A DEDICATION ceremony will be staged at 3pm on Saturday for the Poppy Road Poppy Project, which has created a remembrance meadow for the fallen of the First World War. A band and a piper will play at the ceremony, just off Holgate and Poppleton Road, where volunteers planted seeds in April. The names and ages of the 72 Holgate soldiers who died in the war will also be read out.
