POLICE are still searching for a convicted robber, who is wanted for recall to prison.

Michael William Powell, 30, was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for robbery in December, 2011 and was released in June 2014, but has displayed poor behaviour while on licence and is wanted for recall to prison.

Powell is described as white, 6ft tall, with a medium build and dark brown hair, and police said he lives in York, but is known to have links in the Northampton area.

Detective Inspector Graeme Wright, of York CID, said: “Michael, if you see or hear this appeal, I want you to know that we have not forgotten about you and we are making every effort to return you to custody.

“By delaying the inevitable, you are only making matters worse for yourself. I strongly advise you to hand yourself in straight away. I am also asking anyone who sees Powell to contact the police straight away.

“Officers have been making checks at addresses where Powell is believed to have links. These visits will continue until he has been arrested. If you are shielding him, you need to know that you are not helping Powell and you may even be committing offences yourself.

“If this is the case, you face the prospect of arrest and prosecution.”

Anyone with information should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
