A motorcyclist was taken to hospital by air ambulance when a car and a motorbike collided on the A64 near Hopgrove.
The road was closed by police for 15 minutes to allow the helicopter to land on the road between the Hopgrove and Towthorpe junctions at around 7pm on Thursday.
The man was taken to hospital, but the extent of his injuries are not known. The driver of the car was uninjured.
The A64 has now re-opened to traffic moving in both directions.
