A MAN has been airlifted to hospital after being thrown from his bike in a crash in North Yorkshire.

The man was thrown into the hedge in the crash on the A170 near to the Sinnington junction  between Malton and Pickering just before 8pm.

Fire crews trimmed back the hedge and helped paramedics move him to an air ambulance. He has been taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

No other vehicles were involved, a spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
