Emmerdale stars will be shining for charity when York Rocks Against Cancer again in October.

Tony Audenshaw, who plays Bob Hope in the soap, will host the benefit night at the Grand Opera House.

He will be joined by fellow cast members Natalie Anderson, who plays sassy barmaid Alicia, Dominic Brunt, who appears as vet Paddy Kirk, and Michelle Hardwick, known as receptionist Lizzie Hopkirk.

Mr Audenshaw is also bringing along his own covers band, called White Van Man

The actor is the lead singer but the band could not make the date of the charity show last year.

So Tony had to stand by as some of his soap co-stars performed as Edna’s Hat, a folk rock band made up of present and past Emmerdale actors.

This year Tony's White Van Man will be sharing the bill with his co-stars who perform as Barmaid and The Vets.

Starting at 7.30pm on October 11, the line up also includes youth rockers Unit 8 with Attitude Dance Club.

Teenage busker turned Voice star Beth McCarthy, 17, of Rawcliffe, York, will also be on stage, as will local band Guilty Pleasures.

Completing the line-up, fresh from their appearance with Hope & Social, at the Leeds Arena for the opening ceremony of the “Grand Depart” are the Grand Old Uke of York.

Tickets are £13 from the Grand Opera House box office or the York Against Cancer shop, North Moor Road, Huntington.

Organiser Graham Bradbury, of Copmanthorpe, said: "We are delighted the Grand Theatre York are the hosting the event again and that the Emmerdale cast are supporting the charity.

"Emmerdale enjoyed it so much last year that they are bringing two bands this year so come along and enjoy a rocking night whilst supporting York Against Cancer."
