THE co-ordinator of York’s festival for the over-50s says time is running out if people are planning events and would like them included in the festival programme.

Sue Lister said the York 50+ festival had a total of 115 events last year but few application forms had so far reached her for this year’s event, with its imminent deadline of July 20 rapidly approaching.

“People are urged to act swiftly if they don’t want to miss being part of this year’s celebration, which runs from September 27 to October 5, “ she said. Forms can be found at yorkassembly.org.uk/festival or by phoning 01904 488870.”

She added that there had been an overwhelming response to the preceding 50+ Information Fair, which takes places on Wednesday September 10, with stands set to fill the Guildhall.

In addition to this effort, half a dozen stands are booked to be set up at the Spurriergate Centre and All Saints Pavement.
