A PENSIONER has been reunited with a restored steam locomotive which he remembers from his years as an employee at the former Harrogate Gas Works Company.
Memories came flooding back for Albert Robinson, of Bishop Thornton, near Harrogate, when he showed Barber to his three-year-old great grand-daughter, Jessica Fox.
The engine was made more than a century ago and used to haul coal at the gas works but was taken out of service in 1946.
It is now taking pride of place on the President’s Lawn at the 156th Great Yorkshire Show, which takes place in Harrogate this week.
