A NEW community radio station will be launched near York on August 18.
Vale Radio is a community based, not-for-profit organisation.
The new radio station will be based at Haxby Memorial Hall.
It will be fully equipped with the latest technology for recording, audio production, interviews as well as training in media, journalism and production.
It says its aim is to support local villages with information, training facilities, useful links and entertainment.
Familiar names in local radio broadcasting will be taking to the airwaves with daily shows.
These names include Sandie Dunleavy, Dougie Weake and Chris Marsden.
The new station will be streaming 24/7 and be available over the web, on desktop, mobile and tablet devices.
