THREE men arrested in connection with the death of a young York boxer will not face prosecution.

Amateur boxer Sean Boy Finney was 23 years old when he was found unconscious in a caravan at The Ranch park in Cliffe, near Selby, on Sunday, December 1.

Despite attempts to revive him, Mr Finney was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three men from the local area – aged 27, 30 and 49 – were arrested after Mr Finney’s death, and released on police bail until February, when they were re-bailed until yesterday.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “The three men who were arrested in connection with the death of Sean Boy Finney, who died at The Ranch Caravan Park on Cliffe Common, on Sunday, December 1, 2013, have now been released from police bail without charge.”

North Yorkshire Police had previously said they believed there had been a fight at the caravan park on the night prior to Mr Finney’s death, which was witnessed by a large number of people.

The spokesman said no further action would be taken against the three men.
