PLANS for 14 new homes on a former pub site in Acomb are set for the go-ahead from planners this week.
City of York Council has already decided to spend £1.67 million buying the new homes from the developer, in a bid to relieve the housing crisis in the city.
Now the scheme to tear down the disused Pack of Cards pub on Lindsay Avenue and build 14 one and two-bedroomed flats in its place is to go before a planning committee on Thursday.
The planning department has received objections from neighbours worried the building would block out sunlight and overlook nearby homes, and heard concerns about ground conditions nearby.
Now developers have altered their plans to reduce the size of the building, and planning officials are recommending that councillors approve the plans.
