Treasurer's House is laying on a feast for the eyes, but definitely not for the stomach.

Ceramicist Karen Thompson has made porcelain sandwiches, some of which she has placed on benches and in nooks and crannies around the garden of Treasurer's House.

Each sandwich is white and normal sandwich scale - and should not be eaten.

She is one of nine artists taking part in York Curiouser festival, which celebrates York's hidden corners. All have installed artwork throughout the city for passers-by to find by chance.

Lisa Holden, visitor services manager at the National Trust property by York Minster, said: “We’re delighted to be involved with York Curiouser this year. Treasurer’s House has a beautiful garden that’s free to enter, which both locals and visitors often enjoy to eat their lunch or simply listen to the Minster bells.’

The three-week festival runs until July 7.
