A SUSPECTED drink-driver who was pulled over by police gave a breath-test reading more than four times the legal limit.

Officers from North Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Group were on the A64 near Sand Hutton and pulled over the Rover 25 due to the manner of the motorist's driving.

The 53-year-old woman driving the car took a roadside breath test showing 148mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath - more than four times the legal limit of 35mg.

A second breath test at the police station gave a reading of 162mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath - more than four and a half times the legal limit.

The woman, from Bridlington, was arrested and taken into custody. She has since been bailed, and will appear before York and Selby Magistrates Court next month.
