A COUPLE who won their wedding through The Press are in the final stages of preparations for their big day at a York hotel.

Lauren Beevers and David McRae, of Wigginton Road, York, will tie the knot at the Marriott Hotel in Tadcaster Road on Friday next week.

Fifty guests will enjoy a wedding breakfast and drinks and the bride and groom will spend their first night as a married couple in an upgraded Grandstand Room, as well as having two-month complimentary use of its leisure club.

The couple, who have a 16-month-old daughter, Robyn, won this newspaper's Win A Wedding competition last year, meaning they will not have to spend a single pound on everything from dresses and suits to the hen and stag parties.

The hotel's wedding package includes a room for the civil ceremony, an evening buffet and disco, and discounted accommodation for friends and family.

The couple will also have flowers from Wards florist , photographs by Nikki Pix, bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses by Wedding Beaus and Belles, stationery and decorations from Truly Scrumptious, decorated cupcakes from Candy Stripes, suits from Debenhams and hens and stags days at York Racecourse.

Lauren, 31, who has been together with David, 40, for seven years and got engaged to him while holidaying in Menorca, said: "We are getting pretty stressed out, as we've a lot going on at the moment, such as new jobs, and are quite nervous but we are really excited about it.

"Everyone has been fantastic as we've been preparing for the day."
