REHEARSALS are underway for Fame! involving a cast of more than 60 dancers, musicians and actors from a York school.
Senior students from year 9 and above at Joseph Rowntree School, in New Earswick, are gearing up for this summer's production which will take to the stage for performances from July 9 to 11.
Rachael Clarke, head of performing arts, has hired a real vintage New York Yellow Taxi for the occasion, which will greet audiences as they arrive for the show at the school's Vaudeville Theatre.
Elaine Armstrong, assistant headteacher, said: " This looks so exciting and as ever tickets will sell very quickly.
"Fame follows on from the sell-out whole school production of Jesus Christ Superstar in February, and is the eighth major show from the Performing Arts Faculty at the school."
Tickets, costing £7 for adults and £5.50 concessions, are available from the school, telephone 01904 552100.
