A SECTION of Clifton road was closed for a time tonight after a cyclist suffered what was thought to be serious injuries.
The man was taken to York Hospital while police cordoned off the A19 near to Clifton Bingo Hall, between Burton Stone Lane and Avenue Terrace, as investigators tried to work out what had happened.
It is thought he had come off a bike but it was not known if a motor vehicle had been involved.
An eyewitness said: “Police closed off the road sending traffic down Burton Stone Lane. There was another police car near to the bingo hall blocking traffic the other way. The man was not in a good way apparently.”
