THIEVES have stolen £2,700 from a York Working Men’s Club.

North Yorkshire Police are reviewing CCTV footage from York Burton Lane WMC, in Clifton, after an intruder apparently kicked in a door and stole the cash on the evening of Sunday, May 4. A spokesman for the force said no arrests had yet been made.

A spokesman for the club said a committee meeting would be held next week to discuss the theft, but did not wish to comment on the matter.
