THE highest-ranking police officers and crime commissioners in the UK will meet in North Yorkshire this year.

The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC) will both hold their annual meetings to Harrogate International Centre, with both expected to come under close media scrutiny. The ACPO conference will take place next month, and was previously held at the HIC in 2011, while the APCC event comes to HIC for the first time in November.

Simon Kent, HIC director, said: “These are two great high-profile signings for HIC in what has been a very busy month for new contracts.

“It’s good to welcome the ACPO delegates back to Harrogate and particularly pleasing to see the Police and Crime Commissioners as a new client.”
