YORK Carers’ Centre is holding a series of events to give unpaid carers in York the chance to take a break.
As part of Carers’ Week from June 9 to 15, the following activities will be held: On June 9, at CVS (Priory Street) carers can have a free health check, visit information stalls and hear short talks from 10am to 3pm. There will also be some live music, a free lunch and complimentary therapies. Please call York Carers’ Centre to book a place.
On June 11, York Carers’Centre has a stall in the reception area of York Hospital – please drop in if you are nearby.
York Carers’ Centre will also have a York City Tour bus in Parliament Street where carers can call in anytime between 10.30am and 5pm. On the same day, York Carers’ Forum is holding a Carers’ Service at 1.20pm in York Minster, to which everyone is welcome, and at 5.30pm at City of York Council West Offices, there will be a meeting for carers who look after an adult on the autistic spectrum.
Finally, on June 13, young carers are launching their new play “Tiny Treasures” at York St John University.
