A WOMAN has been rescued from the River Ouse this morning.
Police were called to Clifton Bridge, where a woman had jumped from the bridge into the water at about 11.10am.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said two members of the public entered the water to help rescue her, and North Yorkshire Fire Service rescue boat also attended.
He said all three were now safely out of the water.
A spokeswoman for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed two ambulances and an emergency care practitioner were sent to the scene.
She said the two members of the public were being checked over at the scene by paramedics, but nobody had yet been taken to hospital.
The incident comes less than a day after the body of 41-year-old York GP Mandeep Ahluwalia was found in the River Ouse.
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said the two incidents were not related.
