TALENT scouts from the BBC’s singing show The Voice UK have been at York College.
They were at the college on Sim Balk Lane looking for people with great voices to take part in the fourth series of the show.
Alicia Sadler, Senior Researcher from The Voice UK, said: “We are looking for either soloists or duos who believe they have what it takes to become the next big thing.
"At York College we know there is a wealth of talent in the college’s music and performing arts department and we have been able to talk to the students about the industry, the show and what we are looking for.”
Andrea Hayden, head of music at York College, said: “Singing is something that happens every day at York College.
"We have students studying A -level and vocational music courses as well as Musical Theatre – they all enjoy singing and have developed their talents whilst at college.
"It was extremely valuable for them receive advice on different career roles within the industry, to understand about the format of The Voice UK and to hear about what the show is looking for in terms of audition pieces.”
