POLICE are concerned for the welfare of a missing 28-year-old woman.

Nadia Gavaid was last seen at her home in Esmond Road, Cheetham Hill, in Manchester, on Wednesday, May 7, at about 10.15am.

Greater Manchester Police said they believe she could be anywhere in the country, and said they were "growing increasingly concerned" for her.

Nadia is described as 5ft 4in tall, with a slim build, long black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a yellow and grey striped t- shirt and a black linen sari.

Detective Inspector Andy Naismith said: “Nadia’s family are understandably concerned they have not heard from her since the seventh of May and are urging she contacts them or police to let us know she is okay.

“This is completely out of character which adds to our concerns. I want to stress that she is not in any trouble at all and we want her to come back home to her loved ones.”

Anyone who may have seen her should phone police on 0161 856 3913 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
