RACEGOERS enjoyed sunny weather for the second day at the Dante Festival.
More than 12,000 people headed to the racecourse.
James Brennan, head of marketing at York Racecourse, said: "It could not have been more different to last year when it rained most of the afternoon.
"It's a meeting out regulars love and it was great they got the chance to spread out and enjoy the lawns and the warm spell we are having. It's very much the sense of the new season having started."
