DETECTIVES in York are still searching for Thomas Metcalf, who is wanted for recall to prison.

Metcalf, 25, failed to comply with the terms of his release licence after being released from prison on Wednesday, April 23. He had served part of a 12 month sentence for attempted burglary.

Metcalf is white, 6ft tall with a medium build and brown hair, and though his whereabouts are unknown police believe he is in the York area.

Detective Inspector Dave Kirby, of York CID, said: “Thomas, by avoiding the police you are only making the inevitable outcome worse for yourself. We have an excellent history of catching wanted people and I know we will maintain this track record with you. I strongly urge you to hand yourself in before we find you.

“The visits officers have been making to addresses where it is believed Metcalf has links will continue until he has been arrested and returned to custody. Anyone who may be shielding Metcalf from the police needs to be aware that they are not helping him and they may even be committing offences themselves. If this is the case, they face arrest and prosecution.”

Anyone with information should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
