THIS year’s Copmanthorpe Carnival will take place on Saturday, June 28, a week earlier than usual to accommodate the Tour de France’s arrival in July.
The carnival, now in its sixth decade, will see the Copmanthorpe Recreation Centre’s sports field packed with stalls, fairground rides and games as well as a reptile road show, donkey rides, bouncy castles, plate smashing, giant inflatable slides, a climbing wall and more. The carnival will also have music from York bands, including The Voice’s Beth McCarthy.
In the run-up to the carnival Copmanthorpe will have junior discos, an art exhibition, wine tasting, and cricket matches.
