York Barbican rocked as North Yorkshire's young people showed it's cool to work with North Yorkshire Police.
They were competing in the annual Rock Challenge international performing arts competition which gives children and teenagers the chance to express their personalities, hopes, dreams and concerns in spectacular onstage productions.
Secondary schools can enter teams of up to 100 performers with up to 20 stage crew and 14 support crew, who then conceive, plan and put together a musical dance number lasting eight minutes from scratch.
The competition aims to deflect young people away from drugs and crimes and national organisers say research shows that it leads to a reduction in substance abuse and other crime by children and young people.
North Yorkshire Police put on the York heat which was won by Graham School of Scarborough who will now go forward to the Northern Open Final.
The school won a number of Awards of Excellence, as did Burton Green Primary School, York, Welburn Hall Special School, Kirkbymoorside, and Boroughbridge High School.
