Gardeners are being treated to a wide selection of plants next month at St Leonard’s Hospice.

Hospice gardeners have been hard at work potting up plants in anticipation for the event which takes place on Sunday, May 18.

The site on Tadcaster Road will host the sale which will also see the Hospice Café open for teas, cream scones and cakes from 11am to 2pm.

Judith Wilson, who works at the hospice, said that the sale had a loyal following every year but it relied on the generosity of the public to donate plants.

"We rely on generous local gardeners, so we hope lots of them will set a few aside."

All proceeds from the sale go to the hospice. If you have plants to offer, please call Hospice Fundraising on 01904 77 77 77.

There is no parking at the hospice, and visitors are being encouraged to use the Askham Bar Park and Ride.

The hospice has thanked Vertigrow at Stockton on the Forest for supplying plants for the sale.
